We were greeted by the jailer : Paul.. Who made a couple jokes such as when I asked what was for breakfast he replied sternly, "bread and water"(hahaha). The jail, built in 1819 has witnessed quite a bit over the years... and the moment I walked in the door I could feel a heavy "vibe" in the air. There was also an eerie pioneer cemetery behind the jail and the back part of the jail was left just as it was and had always been... Dark and dank. Our room had a deviant looking cherub hanging from the ceiling ...said to protect us from the evil spirits that may be lurking ... I wasn't sure it was going to comfort me that much though. We had dinner at historic Talbotts Tavern and hung around for some live music that played well into the night... Blues music traveling through the tiny alleyways and through our cell window once we made it back to the jail.
